Back to Work!!

Everyone is back to work today, and we all had a great day sight seeing. We first went to the Mayan Ruins. How a group of people could build such beautiful buildings without today's modern technology is very talented. To get to and from the ruins we had to take a ferry across the river. Around the river we seen huge iguanas, nothing like the lizards that we have at home. We then went to Spanish lookout which is a town of it's own. They have their own churches, stores, and restaurants. There we ate lunch, did a little shopping, and got homemade ice cream, which was well needed to cool all of down from the scorching heat. After that we went to the Amish community, it was a lot like the Amish at home. We stopped at one of their wood mills, and it was pretty interesting to all the men but I think the women were tired and ready to go back to the house and relax.
Once we got back to the house we all had a lite supper and nice cold showers to cool us off. Yesterday was the hottest day of the week, I'm glad that the men did not have to work on the church. Once we all got cleaned up we headed to the house for devotions. Devotions were again done by Cindy, and she had a lesson on being kind and a guessing for everyone to play. Matt and I were already at the house before devotions having fun and playing with the kids, and I do believe that almost all the older girls have taken a liking to him. They all gang up on him and chase him around the property or soak him in water.
There are also some more sick kids. We had three vomit last night and a couple with some headaches, but they seam to be feeling better this morning and only one is staying home from school.
We only have two and half more days and I believe everyone is starting to miss home. But I know it will be hard for some of us to leave because we do not want to leave these kids who need to be loved and helped. If we could bring them all home I think we would to give them a home and family. Well be back tomorrow... Ruth Smith
