At Work and at Play!

Friday night, Nov. 16 and Saturday night, Nov. 17 were Pajama Party Nights for the children. We played fun games and had lots of special snacks! The older girls had a great time with a "MakeOver" competition. The two teams each had to Make Over someone. One team had Darlene and the other team had Me (Wendy). They gave us each a new hairdo, makeup, and a beautiful new dress made of toilet paper!

There was also a Family Night with the kids on Friday night too. It included Pizza (a favorite at Hosanna House) and all kinds of yummy snacks. We finished the night by watching the movie A Fairy Tale.

Saturday, November 17, 2007, and Monday, November 19, 2007, were Yard Sale days for Hosanna House. Saturday, Nelson and Gladys, along with three of the girls, drove to Hopkins and then a little more south, to have a super-clearance, big time-bargain yard sale. The main purpose was to pass on clothing the children and staff could not use. The idea is to allow families to purchase items at bargain prices (take responsibility) and not just give handouts.

Also, Hosanna House directly profits from the sales. All proceeds go toward the house budget. So, in theory, if someone donates a mans XXL dress shirt, obviously Hosanna House residents cannot wear the item. The sale of the item goes to Hosanna House.
